Meet our amazing staff

Ms. Joni

Ms. Joni is Little Lites Program Director. She has a heart for Jesus & for kids – & she works tirelessly to make sure all of our teachers & assistants are equipped to be the best they can be, so that all of our students can be academically & relationally prepared for their next steps in life. Ms. Joni oversees all of our staff, guides our weekly worship, & encourages the implementation of creative & fun centers. She is also the Founder & Owner of Little Lites, & has served as co-pastor of Hillside Church since January 2000.

Ms. Danielle

Ms. Danielle is Little Lites Program Co-Director. She works each day to make sure all our teachers are supported, and all our students are loved. She graduated from the University of Nevada with her Undergrad in Social Work. She has worked with children for 30 years. She has a passion for helping children be the best they can be. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband and being outside.

Ms. Alyse

Ms. Alyse has been apart of the Little Lites program for 10+ years. Through the years Alyse has grown to love teaching children of all ages and stages. Her teaching journey started as an afternoon float, progressed to lead teacher in the Pre-k program, and now she works as an administrator. Alyse is dedicated to equipping teachers and students with necessary tools to have a successful day. She works to bring kindness, positivity and peace wherever she goes. Outside of working at Little Lites, Alyse enjoys reading, days spent at Lake Tahoe and catching babies.

Ms. Addie

Ms. Addie is Little Lites’ Infant-Toddler Director. Her goal is for all children at Little Lites to be happy, healthy, and loved, and to have fun while learning! She finds working with children and babies so rewarding. Seeing their happiness reminds her every day of the joy God wants us to have in our lives. In her free time she enjoys serving at church, hiking, finding natural hot springs, and making memories with her husband and children.

Ms. Kathy

Ms. Kathy has been married to her wonderful man for 27 years. Together, they have two adult children, a boy & girl, & one granddaughter. She loves hanging out with family & friends, being at Lake Tahoe anytime of the year, & traveling. Ms. Kathy enjoys seeing new places, reading a good book, & Bible study.

Classes and Programs

Classes

Infant and Toddler
We provide safe and loving care to children from the newborn stages to 24months old.  All infants and toddlers go home with a detailed report of their meals, naps, and achievements for the day.

Advanced Early Education
Children aged 2 to 3 years old learn about a different shape, color, number, and letter each week, as well as a bible verse each month.  Every day we teach about a different concept (like science, animal, holiday, character, and more).

Pre-Kindergarten
Children aged 4 to 5 years old continue to learn more about the concepts they’ve learned in earlier classes.  Pre-K students are preparing to enter Kindergarten with us at Little Lites, or at a different school.  They’ll learn everything that is required to enter Kindergarten, like writing and counting, the foundations of phonics, how to hold pencils and scissors, as well as how to follow classroom expectations, and much more.

Kindergarten
Our Kindergarten program has proven to set children up for great success academically as well as with personal growth.  Our teachers deliver high quality lesson plans, and promote academic excellence.  Read more about our Kindergarten program below…

Elementary School Breaks and Camps
We provide continued care during most Washoe County School District breaks.  We offer elementary aged camps for spring, fall, and winter breaks, and also a summer camp!

Worship Arts Pastors from Hillside Foursquare Church play live worship music for our students four days a week!

We partner with Soccer Shots to offer an engaging children’s soccer program with a focus on character development.

Private Kindergarten

Little Lites Christian Learning Center has been serving the Reno/Sparks community for over eighteen years.  Our Kindergarten program follows Abeka Christian Education, which is a comprehensive, biblical-based curriculum.  Our teachers deliver high quality lesson plans, and promote academic excellence.

During the school year, students will learn foundational skills in:

Our program has proven to set children up for great success with academics and personal growth.

Our Kindergarten program uses the same grading format that Washoe County School District (WCSD) uses for elementary aged students. Parents will receive progress reports throughout the year, and a final report at the end of the school year.  Upon the completion of Kindergarten, students will receive a certificate of completion. Parents will have everything they need to enroll their child in First Grade at a public or private school.
